Glam Launches Foodie, a Social Media Site for Food Lovers

Glam Media announced yesterday the launch of Foodie, a social media site that is part Facebook, part Twitter, part interactive magazine and ALL about food. According to a Reuters article, more than 100 food writers and bloggers are signed on to produce original content, interact with subscribers and create recipes. Users create profiles with their Facebook or Twitter identities and signup is free. Although the site is in beta stage, Glam founder Samir Arora thinks there is plenty of room for a food-centric social site and predicts that food enthusiasts will quickly make it one of their 3-4 go-to online playgrounds.
