James Beard Foundation Announces 2013 Semifinalists

A Restaurant and chef committee for the James Beard Foundation, a non-profit organization celebrating and promoting all things food, waded through over 44,000 online entries in 20 categories, ranging from Best New Restaurant to Outstanding Pastry Chef, to narrow the list to 421 semifinalists across the country. On March 18th each category will get narrowed to a finalist list of five per category, with the awards ceremony taking place May 3 & 6 in New York City. Last year’s winners include Hugh Acheson for Best Chef: Southeast; Next in Chicago as Best New Restaurant; and No. 9 Park in Boston for Outstanding Wine Program.
