Chicken of the Sea? Maybe You Should Be…

According to a new study by Consumer Reports magazine, you ought to be a little chicken about what you’re getting from the sea — at least as far as albacore tuna in a can goes.

In 42 samples of canned and pouched tuna, CR found the stuff to be as loaded with dangerous methyl mercury as ever.  So much so, that eating one 2.5 ounce can will put a person over the safe limit of heavy-metal consumption as per the recommendations of the Food & Drug Administration. Yipes. Sorry, Charlie, only good sardines get to be Starfish…
